Greg and Patrice Drummond bought the old Cape Cod farmhouse in 1977 as the perfect place to raise three daughters. The challenge was to find a way to finance this enterprise.

After several years of logging, Greg constructed a boatbuilding shop of logs to house his growing canoe business.  The canoes were traditional, square-stern grandlakers used by Maine guides for lake fishing.  Between this business and the whole family working seasonally for Cobbs Pierce Pond Camps, we settled in, and this became home.

Eventually Greg developed an allergy to the cedar used in canoe building and had to give up this part of the business.  We remodeled the building into comfortable lodging, consisting of six bedrooms of various sizes, three full bathrooms, two living rooms (each with a woodstove), a kitchen, and cozy dining room.  Two porches across front and back offer great views of surrounding countryside, local wildlife and a spectacular variety of birds.
