The fishing possibilities are unlimited here at the
Claybrook Mountain Lodge. We fish streams, rivers, and lakes. We are
experts in fly-casting, and we welcome a chance to teach those who want to learn. |

A New Option for Fishing
Todd Stevens, a local
guide, has built his own drift boat for river fishing. Todd is
the master of the Dead River and the Kennebec.
He's offering drift-boat day trips on the Kennebec. The boat is similar to
ones used on rivers out West, and it allows him to maneuver with oars
in swift water while two fishermen cast. Drifting the Kennebec
is a wonderful experience even without the fishing. The scenery
is stunning and wildlife is abundant. There are rock carvings
left by Abenakis who had an encampment near Solon. Brook trout,
rainbows, browns, salmon, and small mouth bass are all found in the
Kennebec
We highly recommend this trip. Cost for a day is
$250.00 for two fishermen, including guide, boat, and shuttle. |

We also know where the worm bed is, and we'll use them, too! Michael Stream and
Little Alder Stream run in front of the lodge, just right for a day of fishing
for brook trout.
Local bodies of water produce brook trout, rainbows, land-locked salmon, perch,
pickerel, bass, and brown trout. For every fish, there is a season--and we
know just what's biting, and when.
